Why should students blog?
I think student should be allowed to have blogs because:
- It’s a different way to learn, we can use posts to show people from all over the globe what we are doing and they could do it too
- We can interact with other students from all around the world via blogs instead of penpals or travelling
- You learn new skills
- It’s really fun!!!
- Interesting; lots of new things to learn on the internet
- Instead of wasting paper from all those sheets of homework, it’s a few clicks away and your homework is done, paper-free
- The future will have lots of technology, we are learning some of it early
- We get to meet lots of new people!!
- People can comment on your blog and help you improve it
- We learn how to do Voki’s and lots more!
iNet Student Conference
There is a conference on a site (http://www.cybertext.net.au/student08_inet_jun/index.html) and the topic is If You Could Change The World To Create A better Future, What Would You Do? Ms Murnane said that it has to be between 50-100+ words and my answer to this topic is:
Nuclear weapons should be banned. What is the good of them? What is the use of them? Where are they headed…?
Nuclear weapons are evil. Evil. They do no good to anyone, harm innocent people, and were a tool of war in the 1900’s. Look at the Hiroshima A bomb. 66000 people were killed by ‘Little Boy’ out of a population of 255000. 80% of buildings were destroyed. All at the press of a button, the flick of a switch. So easy to do, so many killed. All it takes is a single finger to slip and this could happen again. But with modern technology, 20 000 times stronger than Little Boy, these bombs could kill many, many more…
And that is why nuclear weapons should be destroyed. Not just taken off high alert, but fully destroyed. Just imagine the horror, the pain, the grief caused by a nuclear weapon. Thousands dead, many more injured. i cannot fully imagion the powerful sadness of it all, but let’s not make that imagination become reality.
So I am talking to you, France, Israel, Pakistan, China, russia, USA, UK, North Korea, India and anyone else that is for nuclear weapons.
And remember,
I can…you can, we can abolish nuclear weapons.
Please visit www.icanw.org for more information on nuclear weapons and how to stop them.
