  1. The school in Umul, Guro is a boarding school.
  2. They wear sandals and if they get stolen or the students are in a hurry and forget to put them on, they have to stand in the middle of a circle and do 10 push ups!
  3. Boys and girls have seperant classes and we don’t.
  4. Their school starts at 7:00am and finishes at 1.00l they have a rest then have prayers at 3:00!
  5. The girls have to wear things on their heads because of their religion.
  6. They only have Friday as a day off, not Saturday of Sunday.

AFL Footy Day

August 7th, 2008  Tagged , ,

Today we wore our favourite footy team’s colours to celebrate 150 years of AFL football. We paid 2 dollars; half goes to Jump Rope for Heart and the other half to SRC for future events. I am wearing the Brisbane Lions colours: maroon, blue and gold. At lunch there was a kicking competition. I didn’t enter but if you won you got a lolly. It’s been a fun day because it’s not every day you celebrate 150 years of football.

Why should students blog?

June 19th, 2008

I think student should be allowed to have blogs because:

  1. It’s a different way to learn, we can use posts to show people from all over the globe what we are doing and they could do it too
  2. We can interact with other students from all around the world via blogs instead of penpals or travelling
  3. You learn new skills
  4. It’s really fun!!!
  5. Interesting; lots of new things to learn on the internet
  6. Instead of wasting paper from all those sheets of homework, it’s a few clicks away and your homework is done, paper-free
  7. The future will have lots of technology, we are learning some of it early
  8. We get to meet lots of new people!!
  9. People can comment on your blog and help you improve it
  10. We learn how to do Voki’s and lots more!
